Dear form 4506-C Users,

Form 4506-C has added a new field in the signature box where the taxpayer (and spouse, if applicable) are required to print or type their full name. This form requirement has created programming issues for some of the IVES community.

In response to industry requests, the IRS is granting a grace period from April 9, 2021 through June 30, 2021. During this time period, Form 4506-C will not be rejected solely for failing to print or type the taxpayer (and spouse) name in the signature box.

Previously rejected requests will have to be submitted as new inventory and are not eligible for a credit. New Form 4506-C submissions must adhere to the required 120-day signature timeframe and all other normal review criteria.

Any Form 4506-C received on or after July 1, 2021 will be subject to the full completion requirements to include the taxpayer (and spouse) name to be printed or typed in the signature box.

Per the IVES receipt standard: anything received after 2:00 pm local site time is considered to be received on the next business day.

Thank you,
